Bradford Building Better Homes & Building A Better You A nonprofit corporation headquartered in Houston, Texas, Building Dreams Development (BDD) is dedicated to building affordable homes in America. BDD emphasizes local solutions, empowerment of the poor, reduced dependence, and self-help strategies. BDD  provide both single and multi-family homes and promotes homeownership for working low-Income  families through a self-help, "sweat equity" construction method. Building Dreams Development offers services to public, nonprofit, and private organizations throughout Houston and surrounding cities. Our aim is to give everyone the opportunity of a decent home and to promote well-being and self-dependence. This site sets out the action we are taking, from Increasing the provision of affordable housing in areas of high demand, to addressing the problems of low demand and abandonment. Building Dreams Development recognizes connections between development and quality of life. It leverages new growth to improve the community. The features that distinguish Building Dreams Development in a community vary from place to place. In general, we invest time, attention, and resources in restoring community and vitality to center cities and older suburbs. Housing is a critical part of the way communities grow, as it is constitutes a significant share of new construction and development. More importantly, however, is also a key factor in determining households’ access to transportation, commuting patterns, access to services and education, and consumption of energy and other natural resources. By using smart growth approaches to create a wider range of housing choices, communities can mitigate the environmental costs of auto-dependent development, use their infrastructure resources more efficiently, ensure a better jobs-housing balance, and generate a strong foundation of support for neighborhood transit stops, commercial centers, and other services. Our goal is to give every very low to moderate Income family a tool that helps them improve their lives. If   your life improves as a result of our work, we are successful. History Building Dreams Development Inc. (BDD) was formed in 2001 in order to provide low-Income housing, housing for the elderly and handicapped, and all other charitable purposes permitted under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c) 3. BDD received its initial Determination Letter from the Department of the Treasury on March, 2003   Purpose and Focus The purpose of Building Dreams Development, Inc. (BDD) is to provide affordable housing throughout the United States through a charitable (non-profit) corporate structure. In addition, it is the mission of BDD to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness by providing very low, low and moderate Income families with the highest quality of affordable housing through our self-help programs and to provide limited social services - Including youth education, after school programs and elderly activities - in conjunction with its ownership of properties. BDD's primary focus is to acquire single and multifamily properties.  We will also rehabilitate old and abandoned homes in the distressed communities, provide individual with resources to purchase new homes and give them the chance to learn additional skills that will allow them to obtain better jobs.
